The beginning
A golden thread from East to West
Luxury Tastes is the gourmet house of Green Trade Chain Ltd, founded in Birmingham to redefine how the world experiences authentic, high-value ingredients. We grew up with saffron as the centrepiece of the Persian table — the golden crown of a celebratory rice, the perfume of a festive sweet — and we wanted to share that experience, uncompromised, with cooks in Britain and around the world.
Today our Super Negin saffron is trusted by chefs in Michelin-starred kitchens and recognised with a Great Taste 2025 two-star award, judged blind by a panel of food experts.

Research & development
The future of saffron
Saffron depends on a short autumn harvest, the weather and an immense amount of hand labour. Our R&D programme is developing controlled-environment cultivation — hydroponic and aeroponic systems guided by sensors, data and AI — to grow saffron with greater consistency, less water and renewable energy.
It is long-term work, led by our founder’s background in industrial engineering and supply-chain systems, and it shares one goal with everything we do: making exceptional saffron more reliable and more sustainable.
